FEATURE: Japan a winning destination for independent travelers
December 27, 2005Whilst by no means the largest country in the world, Japan's diversity and reputation as a land of ''glorious contradiction'' make it hardly surprising that it has been marked out as a top destination for travelers by the Lonely Planet travelers' guide. ''Bluelist,'' a brand new concept book published in December by the renowned travel guide company, compiles a selection of top 10 lists of the world's ''best'' in such things as food, markets, festivals, and ''city breaks,'' and features Japan in over a quarter of them.
