NASA agrees to speed up deliveries for Japan's space lab Kibo
March 2, 2006The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration agreed Thursday to speed up deliveries of components for Japan's first manned space laboratory Kibo in the International Space Station to 2007 and 2008. The accord was part of a broad agreement reached by the heads of space agencies from Canada, Europe, Japan, Russia and the United States at a meeting at Kennedy Space Center in Florida to complete the construction of the orbiting space station in 2010.

March 2, 2006Japan has caught more than its quota of southern bluefin tuna allowed under international arrangements in fiscal 2005, the Fisheries Agency said Thursday. The agency has decided to launch preventive measures in fiscal 2006, including setting catch limits and requiring the fish to be tagged, agency officials said.
