Japan offers to cooperate with U.S. nuclear fuel program
February 8, 2006Japan has offered to cooperate with the recently announced U.S. program to expand civilian nuclear energy in the United States and other countries while protecting nuclear fuel and waste, sources familiar with the matter said Wednesday. The two countries' experts will work out the details of the program called the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership, or GNEP, in the near future, the sources said.
