Japanese, Chinese delegates to N. Korea nuke talks to meet Sun.
January 8, 2006Japan's head delegate to the six-party talks on North Korea's nuclear programs said in Beijing on Sunday he will meet with China's chief delegate later in the day to exchange views on the negotiations. Kenichiro Sasae, head of the Japanese Foreign Ministry's Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, told reporters he will meet with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei, who is also host of the six-way negotiations.
Singapore stages mock terror attack on commuter train stations
January 8, 2006Singapore staged its first large drill against terrorist bomb attacks on the country's mass transit system Sunday, with commuter train services suspended for about three hours at several locations in the city state. The drill, ''Exercise NorthStar,'' involved more than 2,000 personnel.
