Snow falls on Tokyo for 1st time this season, 1 dead, 160 injured

Tokyo and extensive areas of eastern Japan experienced their first snowfall this season Saturday, with one person dead, at least 160 injured and air and train services disrupted, authorities said. As of 7 p.m., 10 centimeters of snow had fallen in downtown Tokyo, 11 cm in Yokohama, 17 cm in Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture, and 8 cm in the city of Chiba, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.
