Livedoor Marketing to review capital tie with Livedoor

Livedoor Marketing Co. will review its capital relationship with Livedoor Co. and will consider changing its name, the president of the online advertising company said Friday. The issues will be taken up at an advisory panel Livedoor Marketing will set up to supervise its management, Satoshi Hoyano said at a press conference.

SESC files criminal complaint on Livedoor's Horie, 5 others

The government's securities market watchdog filed a criminal complaint with public prosecutors Friday against former Livedoor Co. President Takafumi Horie, three former Livedoor executives and two corporate entities in connection with the alleged accounting fraud involving the Livedoor group. The two firms named by the Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission in the document filed with the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office are Livedoor Co. and its subsidiary ValueClick Japan Inc., now called Livedoor Marketing Co.

FY 2005 pretax profit of listed firms to set new high for 3rd yr in row

Listed companies are likely to set a new high in combined pretax profit in fiscal 2005 for the third year in a row, benefiting from a pickup in business activity and other favorable environments including higher stock prices and the yen's depreciation, a private think tank said Friday. The Shinko Research Institute came up with the bullish forecast based on consolidated earnings reports for the April-December period of last year, or the first three quarters of fiscal 2005, released by 814 nonfinancial companies listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Livedoor Auto asks parent Livedoor to dissolve their partnership

Livedoor Auto Co. asked its parent firm Livedoor Co. on Friday to dissolve their capital alliance, the used car dealer's president Hirofumi Inoue said. The move, approved at a board meeting the previous day, is aimed at avoiding adverse effects on its operations stemming from the relationship with Livedoor following last month's arrest of several executives from the parent firm over alleged securities law violations, Inoue said at a news conference.
