Sharp fluctuation in forex undesirable, Yosano says

''It is natural for foreign exchange rates to move as they are traded in the market, but a sharp fluctuation is not desirable,'' Yosano said during a news conference when asked about the yen's current rise versus the U.S. dollar.

At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 114.53-55 yen against 114.42-52 yen at 5 p.m. Monday in New York and 116.08-11 yen at 5 p.m. Friday in Tokyo. Japan's financial markets were closed Monday for a national holiday.
