Indonesia confirms 20th human bird flu death
February 25, 2006A World Health Organization reference laboratory in Atlanta has confirmed the 20th human bird flu death in Indonesia, an Indonesian senior health official said Saturday. Hariadi Wibisono, director of animal-related diseases control at the Health Ministry, told Kyodo News that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed that a 27-year-old woman who died Monday tested positive for the virulent H5N1 strain of bird flu.
