Indonesia confirms 20th human bird flu death

A World Health Organization reference laboratory in Atlanta has confirmed the 20th human bird flu death in Indonesia, an Indonesian senior health official said Saturday. Hariadi Wibisono, director of animal-related diseases control at the Health Ministry, told Kyodo News that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed that a 27-year-old woman who died Monday tested positive for the virulent H5N1 strain of bird flu.
