Beijing city stops love inscriptions near Great Wall

Beijing city officials have shut down a money-making project in which lovers could carve their sentiments into a slab of marble near a heavily traveled section of the Great Wall, state media and a project staff member said Friday. The Beijing Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage shut down the Great Wall of Love project at Juyongguan Pass, a wall landmark about 50 kilometers north of central Beijing, after doing an inspection, the official Xinhua News Agency reported.
