February 4, 2006Japan and North Korea agreed Saturday to discuss the abductions of Japanese nationals by North Korean agents on Sunday as part of a new three-track format to try to resolve outstanding bilateral problems, Japanese and North Korean delegates said. Koichi Haraguchi, Japanese ambassador in charge of Japan-North Korea normalization talks, said the two sides also decided to discuss the normalization of bilateral ties on Monday and North Korea's nuclear and missile issues on Tuesday. ==Kyodo

Song says N. Korea has more to say than Japan on abduction issue
February 4, 2006A North Korean delegate to talks with Japan starting Saturday in Beijing said Pyongyang has more to say than Tokyo on the issue of the North's abduction of Japanese nationals. Song Il Ho, vice director of the North Korean Foreign Ministry's Asian Affairs Department, told reporters upon arriving in the Chinese capital, ''We have more things that we should say'' on the abduction issue.
