Indonesia's bird flu death toll rises to 14
January 22, 2006Indonesia said Saturday a laboratory in Hong Kong has confirmed that the H5N1 strain of bird flu killed two children in a West Java family, bringing the country's official death toll from bird flu to 14. Hariadi Wibisono, a senior Health Ministry official, said that beside the latest confirmations, he still waits the result of tests of other suspected bird flu cases conducted by the laboratory, which is recognized by the World Health Organization.
