Diarrhea, Japanese People and The Fashion of the Future: The (Friday) Nooner (EST)!

November 30, 2007

Awesome Video Of The Day I Have A Bad Case Of Diarrhea I always thought Japanese people were total badasses, what with the Shogun warriors and the Seppuku and all that, but apparently I was all turned around on the subject. It turns out that Japanese people are actually huge sissies who call an ambulance every time they get diarrhea. Shouldn’t the whole death-before-surrender thing come into play here? If you’re Japanese, doesn’t checking yourself into a hospital for your explosive diarrh

Narita Airport Immigration

November 30, 2007

成田空港の入国 I went through the new immigration procedures today at Narita Airport near Tokyo. [IMG Re-entry]There are now distinct channels for native Japanese citizens, re-entry permit holders and "other foreigners." Narita is so far the only airport to our knowledge that has set up a separate channel for re-entry permit holders so re-entry permit holders at other airports will have to queue in the "other foreigners'" channel. As re-entry permit holders now have their own channel at Narita Airp

Super Potato - Gamer’s Paradise

Super Potato - Gamer’s Paradise Posted in Gaming by admin on the November 30th, 2007 Super Potato may sound like a new Mr. Potato Head but its not…Super Potato is a shop in Japan that is every old school gamer’s dream. While consoles and games get replaced in the United States and are forgotten, in Japan that’s not the case. Super Potato is a 3 story building that has all of your favorite old school console titles. They even still have consoles that have NEVER been opened. Now how cool would

Tequila from Asia (?)

November 30, 2007

Tequila from Asia (?) by Jay This from the BBC: The main Mexican farmers’ union had been told that Chinese firms had begun legal moves to register the nopal plant [a species of cactus] with the European Commission as a Chinese product. At least in the US, and every other place I have been in the world, Tequila is a mainstay. Once just a party beverage for frat boys and a loneliness killer for cowboys, tequila has become a popular mainstream drink in the US. Mexican growers and marketers wan

One Touch

November 30, 2007

I have not been writing here. I write often in my “mixi” journal. (Mixi is the Japanese version of myspace or facebook.  If you have a mixi account feel free to say hi! http://mixi.jp/show_profile.pl?id=8567229 You need an account to see it SORRY) I guess the reason for that is because I am here in Japan. One would think that people back home would be the ones that need updates the most. But it seems that the opposite is true. The really close “home” friends I talk to on MSN or exchange emai
